Summer Book Club: Seeking Refuge, 2nd Ed.

This summer, we invite you to join our 3‑week Book Club exploring the newly updated Seeking Refuge, a thoughtful and deeply researched guide to understanding the global refugee crisis. Written by leaders at World Relief, the book offers a compassionate, practical, and Christian‑rooted framework for responding to one of the most significant humanitarian issues of our time.

Through history, policy insights, psychology, and personal stories, the authors help readers wrestle with essential questions:

  • Who are refugees and other displaced people?

  • What are the real risks and benefits of receiving them?

  • How do we hold compassion and security together?

  • What does it look like to love our neighbors in a complex world?

The 2nd edition releases June 2, and we encourage participants to preorder now to receive the book in time for our first session.

You can pre-order your book now from Target.

Book Club Schedule (Wednesdays, 12–1 PM):

  • June 24 — Introduction + Chapters 1–5

  • July 1 — Chapters 6–11

  • July 8 — Conversation with author Matt Soerens

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful journey as we learn, reflect, and consider how we can respond with wisdom and compassion.
