Great to meet you!

Phoenix Refugee Connections began in 2008 as a small group of Christ followers with a common goal to empower their refugee friends to become thriving, self-sufficient American citizens. This de-centralized network presently is facilitated by Mary Kaech and Mars Adema who together have over 20 years’ experience in refugee ministry.

Who is a refugee?

A refugee is a person who has been forced to flee his or her home country because of persecution, war or violence. Refugees have a well-founded fear of persecution based on their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. They cannot safely return home or are afraid to do so. Refugees span all faiths, ethnicities and backgrounds, and each one is made in the image of God.
