Micro-Grants for Refugee Relationships

The vision of Phoenix Refugee Connections is to see every former refugee in Phoenix compassionately embraced as kin by the Body of Christ and thriving.

As we spend time with our refugee neighbors, slowly building trusted friendships that are more like family, there may be activities we'd love to do together but can't, because of the cost. Thanks to a grant from Impact AZ, volunteers and friends of refugees now can apply for small, flexible micro-grants that strengthen relationships and foster greater belonging for our refugee neighbors. Take a look and consider applying!

What Can Micro-Grants Be Used For?

Micro-grants support activities you do together with your refugee friend(s), including shared meals, family outings, educational classes, museum or zoo visits, cultural center trips, sports events, and transportation costs related to approved activities—even volunteer onboarding expenses such as fingerprint clearance cards (for volunteers of Lutheran Social Services, Matthew House or other local agencies). We encourage creativity — if an activity strengthens relationships, promotes belonging, or supports integration or English acquisition, it may be eligible.
